BIO & EDUCATION

Chasity Gatson is an Urban and Regional Planner turned public policy leader and economic development strategist. Her background includes serving as a Senior Policy Advisor— specializing in risk management, legal, legislative, regulatory affairs, compliance, program improvement , commercial/residential backed securitization and credit policy.
She is known for straddling the delicate line between analysis and action. Chasity's helped resolve complex mergers and acquisitions, facilitated the execution of intra-governmental Memorandum's of Understanding, led interagency task forces including a collateral valuation (appraisal) reform team, joint Mortgage Fraud taskforce and Federal and State Housing Agencies Working group.  She's supported large scale financial investigations, and most recently directed and managed implementation of COVID-19 related mortgage assistance programs for rural homeowners in accordance with the American Rescue Plan Act. 
Prior to this, Chasity led team(s) and staff responsible for reducing burdensome and redundant regulations, streamlining mortgage banking credit policy and developing and implementing counter party risk management platforms. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in the implementation of HUD's Housing Finance Reform Plan covering $8.1M single-family forward mortgages.
 
Chasity has a passion for providing and executing solutions in complex environments, as an executive, she's been regarded as a strengths based leader and Administrator, leveraging technology and risk management to ensure staff upwards of 300 plus people, are equipped with the resources required to strive and thrive. She has been recognized for leadership, her ability to build and leverage strategic partnerships, and streamline processes. Chasity’s done this by identifying and mitigating conflicts and or external or unnecessary dependencies. Her track record includes supporting both private and public interests, including partnerships within bipartisan Congressional Committees, a non-profit Community and Resource Center, Community Financial Development Institutions, Bank of America, Department of Treasury, Federal Housing Administration, Department of Transportation and Department of Agriculture.
 
Chasity studied Community & Regional Development, Urban & Regional Planning and Managerial Economics at the University of California Davis (Go Aggies) and the University of California Los Angeles (Go Bruins). Professionally, she's expanded her career expertise to Litigation, Regulatory Compliance, Executive and Organizational Leadership, Credit Policy and Finance— studying respectively at George Mason University, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, New York University's Stern School of Business and George Washington University. 
 
When she's not tackling large scale public policy challenges or trying to make credit policy equitable, Chasity makes room for various interests. Chasity likes to Salsa, innovate in her Interior Design Business, write for her family economics blog, church, running, thrifting, and rock climbing. Chasity previously served as Secretary and Officer, Director of a Virginia based Common Interest Community and an Advisor to the Board of Directors for Hort | Culture a non-profit workforce development program supporting transitional aged youth experiencing homelessness in the Northern California Bay Area.
